DOWNTOWN CUYAHOGA FALLS CELEBRATES THE SEASON: FESTIVITIES ON FRONT STREET SLATED FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio:  Downtown Cuyahoga Falls will celebrate both old and new traditions on Front Street this holiday season.

Festivities include: Small Business Saturday (11/30, hosted by the Downtown Cuyahoga Falls Partnership and the local businesses), the Holiday Tree Lighting and opening of the skating rink (11/30, hosted by Cuyahoga Falls Parks and Recreation), a Holiday Window Competition among downtown merchants (11/30-12/20, hosted by the Downtown Cuyahoga Falls Partnership), Donuts with Santa (12/7, hosted by the City of Cuyahoga Falls and support from the Downtown Cuyahoga Falls Partnership), the Jingle Dog Parade (12/7, hosted by the Downtown Cuyahoga Falls Partnership) and an Ugly Sweater Bar Crawl (12/7, hosted by local bars and breweries).

Small Business Saturday will kick off the season and includes in-store specials and giveaways, pop-up vendors throughout downtown, rewards for spending at local stores, and free babysitting during the event (see www.downtowncf.com/shoplocal for conditions and details). This event runs from 10am-2pm, but some merchants will have extended shopping hours. Day-of information and rewards will be available at the Downtown Pavilion at 2085 Front Street.

Two inaugural traditions, the Holiday Window Competition and the Jingle Dog Parade, aim to celebrate the season in new ways and bring more additional foot traffic to downtown. Sixteen downtown window fronts will compete for Judge’s Choice and People’s Choice awards in this year’s Holiday Window Competition. The public can vote in-store or through social media from 11/30-12/20. The Jingle Dog Parade, presented by Camp Bow Wow-Cuyahoga Falls, will start at the High Bridge Glens Park and will go north on Front Street to the Downtown Pavilion, where dogs and families can take photos with Santa and shop at the dog-friendly Holiday Market. Dogs will compete for prizes in the Furry + Bright Costume Contest presented by Pet Valu. No dog? No problem- come as a spectator or to bring home one of the adorable dogs available for adoption from Paws and Prayers. The event is $20 per dog (for Parade entry, Costume Contest entry, a photo with Santa, and a goody bag) and free for spectators and Holiday Market visitors.
